CRAPPY THE CLOWNTM was originally invented for a Halloween costume party in
1993 by comedian Jerry Caswell. Crappy the Clown was an instant favorite. On the way to
the party that night, Crappy paused for a brief appearance on a local cable TV show.
"Crappy" made a commercial for, "1-900-4-CRAPPY...that's $8.95 the first minute...$3.00 each
additional minute. Crappy also taught kids to smoke, and played a game he called "Let's go through
mommies purse". The TV station took a few angry calls when that aired. Later, Crappy appeared in a
PSA for "Magnum PI" condoms.

Crappy followed that with a comedy-short/silent-movie, "Will Work for Booze". Meanwhile Crappy
also hosted a wet T-shirt contest at a nite club near his home. The show featured Crappy's
"Wheel of titty". The wheel was divided into categories like, freshness test, banana dance,jump(up
and down),and "titty-talk" (where near naked contestants answer typical beauty pageant questions).
The shows motto was..."SKIN TO WIN"!

Soon after Crappy's creation, Crappy and some of his musician buddies formed a "mock and roll" band,
and they called it...'STOOL featuring Crappy the Clown". Known as the "Big Top of rock and roll",
because of Crappy's use of large, strange props. Like an exploding out-house, an electric chair, and
various explosive gags. Crappy and the gang were also famous for a few all out food fights with there
audiences, (the fans could throw back anything crappy and the band threw at them).

In 1995 STOOL won a local battle of the bands and received recording studio time as a prize. Soon a
decent cassette was available and the band could begin to represent itself to clubs, promoters and
indy labels.
